Future of JEDI? -OR- Where are all the leaders gone?

Hi fellows,
1. After I found the "new website" I was amazed that it contained much more
current information. However, this website cannot be easily found (IMO) and
perhaps the old website should forward (however, via HTTP forwarding or
other means) to the new one.
2. Furthermore we had discussed with Alan about the future of JDARTH. Since
he wants to put it on SF.net as part of a bigger project providing several
developer tools. However, no (visible?!) progress was made since.
How about delegation of such tasks? I've read in some book that the best
team leaders "delegate" and don't do everything themselves. We are wasting
precious time - and this includes the man-hours of volunteers.
3. A team leader should be mainly responsible for administrative tasks of
the project, for helping new members, for delegating tasks, for observing
changes and possibly givong a direction to the project. He may, of course,
delegate tasks to himself (as a developer), but mainly he should be there to
assign tasks and so on.
My point is, that we could work so much more efficiently by just using the
"resources" (man-hours of volunteers) *efficiently*. This means delegation,
delegation, delegation ...
Tell me if you believe my view is incorrect. I want to learn your opinion,
otherwise I could have sent this to myself ;)
BTW: Although not being the only team captain of jedi-apilib I contacted
"Phil" as was written on the (old!) website. No bounce and no reply,
however. Any ideas?
--------------------------------
The previous teams records were so out of date that they have been scrapped.
Team JEDI's technical coordinator, Phil Shrimpton, has been trying to
contact as many former team captains as possible, to get updated information
about JEDI projects.
If you are a team captain and Phil has not contacted you, PLEASE contact him
and bring him up to date. We urgently need this information for the
forthcoming new "team sub-webs" which are being constructed by the Web Team.
--------------------------------
It dates to 2001, so I am not sure how current this info is. Seems that
project JEDI and especially the website shows strong symptoms of
desintegration :-[
