That is far from Delphi, but look at Opera browser.
One can have as many as he likes windows in each he can have as many as he
likes sub-windows.
So, if we reduce sub-windows to single one - it is SDI.
If we reduce root-windows to one - it is MDI, or even more reduced
tab-browsing.
Or we can use that 2-level scheme to sort open pages in several top
windows.
Perhaps it can be done in more generic way, when SDI and MDI will be only
some case of generic design ?
