Re: JEDI, where is JEDI?

... not much has changed since I raised my question. It's nice that the project is still alive, also that it's distributed (and that's how it was always meant to be), but the *resources* should be easily and *centrally* available. Still no way to find out who's on the (current) steering team via a website.

But enough ranting. I registered the domain delphi-jedi.net and hereby offer any project administrator of a JEDI project as well as the steering team to create subdomains to their taste. This is very flexible. You can have a subdomain which points to your own IP (DNS-speak: A-record) along with more subsubdomains or even parallel subdomains (of alternative spelling) which will be CNAME-records pointing to the A-record mentioned before. Alternatively I can offer an HTTP-redirect or even hosting on my server (of course somewhat limited by CPU and other resources, given that there are several projects which belong to JEDI, but I'll do my best).
Also note that this is first-come-first-serve, so if there are projects with overlapping acronyms or simply overlapping wishes for subdomains, the first one will get it in any case.

I will also try to offer a simple email alias service for contributing members of JEDI (i.e. like with SF.net, you get an email address with your account name and can forward it to an email address of your choice). But this will take me a while (due to time constraints).

For now delphi-jedi.net and www.delphi-jedi.net will (HTTP) redirect you to delphi-jedi.org and www.delphi-jedi.org respectively. This is, because this is an old resource and it was the most central thing to be found for now. We still have <http://homepages.borland.com/jedi/> with its (outdated and thus vulnerable) CMS installation, a probably even more outdated MediaWiki installation and so on, but which one is auhoritative?

PS: Hosting would include a shell-account and SFTP/SCP access for up/downloads as well as database (MySQL) access.
