I'm no expert on X, but I think that many of the differences between CLX under Linux and CLX under Windows are due to the way that the X Server works, and it may be that different configurations of X will cause subtle changes in the way that CLX behaves. As for VCL, there are quite large differences between CLX and VCL even on Windows from what I can tell. One thing I have experienced is that scanline operations on Linux are very slow. It seems that the image is copied back from the X server before a scanline operation is allowed. I tried all of the windows dodges for increasing performance of scaline, but none of them gave satisfactory results, and eventually I settled on simply using a QImage to handle high speed screen updates. -- adam ------------------------------------------------------- Forum / mailing list for Borland Kylix programmers Our web page: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/kylixgroup To join the forum: [email protected] To unsubscribe: [email protected] To post your messages: [email protected] To contact the moderator: [email protected] ------------------------------------------------------- Your use of Yahoo!
