installing components in Kylix IDE

Hi Everybody!
I am trying to install 3rd party components in the Kylix pallete.
I do the usual procedures, to install(like in Delphi), and at the end 
it says, it sucessufully installed, but then, when i open a project, 
the component that i just installed, completely disappears from 
pallette tool, and never shows up again, and my application doesn't 
compile (compile errors).
I have the kernell 2.4 of linux. What am i doing wrong?!
Please, if someone, could help me, i would appreciate.
