Insert text at cursor

Can anyone help?

I want to implement a drag and drop app where text is inserted into a
memo or RichEdit box.

But I want to insert the text where the mouse pointer is.

The OnDragDrop give the X, Y co-ordinates but how can I convert that
into where to insert the text.

I want to implement something similar to how the Delphi IDE works when
you are dragging text around in the editor?

if there is a component that already does this could you let me know?
