Thanks Luca. That's what I've done in the end. I found an example on the web
and you're right - it isn't too hard, even for me.

Hi Angus!

Why wouldn't you consider writing your own OnDrawCell event handler?
This way you can do whatever you want before or after the original cell
text is drawn (depending on DefaultDrawing property). It's not hard to
be coded.
