Well, the good news is that I've got Kylix3 OE running on RH9 as well,
and i've been using it for a long time..

I've also experienced this case of 'hang' IDE.. it happens in all kinds
of places.. like when you try to open a file and you click on the
dropdown browse menu, and when you open the dialogs to configure the
IDE.. 

My solution to the problem is just to wait it out.. although it
'hangs'.. after waiting a few minutes, it works fine.. The way I get
around it is by changing the way I use the IDE..

It seems to be a problem with Kylix3 as I've used Kylix1 and Kylix2 and
they didn't have this problem (although they had other problems)..

Well, I'll just guess here: 
1) try running as ROOT and see if that works.. (: I've had some programs
fail on me just because I'm not running as root..

I've been using Kylix3 for months now.. no problems now.. there are
certainly bugs, but I'm happy with it as it is for the moment..
