The  graphex.dpr  graphics example which comes with
Delphi covers freehand drawing of lines and shapes
on a TCanvas.

Look in the  ..\Demos\Doc\Graphex  folder.

It's also fully worked through in Chapter 13 of the Delphi2
User's Guide.

That chapter seems to have vanished from later manuals,
but the  graphex.dpr  example is still there (in D5, anyway).
