If the moderator changes the archive access setting to "Public"
(i.e. accessible to anyone whether a member or not), they will be
found by the Google spider and be fully searchable on Google.

Since the membership setting is "Open", i.e. anyone can join at
will, there is really no logic in having the archive set to "members
only".

I am the moderator on several groups and all archive access
is set to "Public". Being able to search them using the full Google
search functions is a big improvement over Yahoo.
