Lol! >I just thought about that last night, after I sent the message... I have that often too... Now, I'm not so sure, and I think it will be more up to your program which route to take. My first instinct would be to say that each document can have multiple windows open (perhaps), but each window can contain only one document (basing this on the Borland IDE). I would put a property on TMyMemo that points to the relevant TDocument. But it could also depend on how you are accessing both items. If you consistently use one thing to find out how to get to the other, I would suggest you make the link in that direction. The way I would understand, is that a user would choose a Window to edit. You would want to know which document is in that window, so make the window link to the document. That's my impression, from the short description you were able to write. The essence is in the logic, as you said. My way of doing this would be to draw on a piece of paper a sorta diagram starting with a block at the top of a page and that block be labelled "Project". Draw some lines down from Project, these lines end in boxes called "App1", "App2" etc. Each app then has various files or documents or windows. And so on. Each time, breaking up a big chunk into smaller chunks. That process is a way of figur9ing out how to logically put it all together, and from there you might find it a clear choice. Its a loose way of doing it, but could help. Alternatively read a bit on UML which is a technique for designing programs. I think the rules of UML once you understand them could point yo uin the best method, but not sure. Good luck!
