Did you set the data set to active in object explorer ?

I'm trying to adapt one of the data base demo
programs for my own use. I copied the tables
into my own folder and set up an alias. When
I execute the program, I get an exception
error which says, "Cannot perform this operation
on a closed dataset." For some reason, my copies
of the tables must differ in some respect from
the originals, but I can't figure out how. Can
someone offer some help?
