I dont use calculated fields too often, so I am
not very familar with them. Having said that,
I just created an application with TzDBF and
a TzGrid. I added a calculated field to be
twice (two times) a normal field and put a button
on the form to set the calculated field to 555.

The calculated field worked fine ... twice the
normal field - everything OK.

Pushing the button places the database in the
edit mode (as indicated by the bar on the grid
as opposed to the arror) ... AND it places the
value of 555 into the field. HOWEVER, when
you scroll on the grid (change records) and
cause the POST operation to take place the
value of the calculated field reverts to two
times the normal field - as defined in the
"calculated relationship" in the OnCalcFields
event of the TzDBF.

But, I cannot get an error message.
