Need help with a shortcut (and icon).

Delphi 8, Topaz 6 - I use an icon to
call a program with a target something
like this:

     c:\myDir\myProgram.exe  c:\junk

where the parameter is the directory to which
index files are written.

Well, whenever I run this program on a certain
machine (Windows XP - Professional) using an
icon, the program "loads" very, very slow. AND
I cannot use the "X" to terminate the program.
I can, however, open a "command window" and
issue this same command and it loads quickly and
terminates normally with the "X".

The program is running on a network with several
other machines running this same program and none
of them have this problem.

Can anyone offer a guess of why I am having
this problem?

ALSO,  how do you change the icon?  When the
machine was Windows 98 machine and you right-clicked=20
to make a change, you got a large group to choose from.
Can anyone help??=20=20
