Right - I had caught that post, but I was more curious as to the CLI environment - what are the impediments to using that part of the playground on Linux or Mac, or are they too intertwined to make that viable? - Rob ________________________________ From: [email protected] on behalf of Bruce Mitchener Sent: Saturday, July 06, 2013 4:58 PM To: Dylan Public Development List Subject: Re: [hackers] Dylan Environment I wrote about this here: http://dylanfoundry.org/2013/01/18/why-is-the-opendylan-ide-only-on-windows/ One thing that I didn't mention in there was the possibility of getting the DUIM Gtk+ backend working again. I've written a binding to gobject-introspection to make it easy to generate bindings for anything using gobject (like Gtk+) in a clean and good way. I did some serious work on this again yesterday and it is getting much closer to being able to generate bindings. This would be a great project for someone to help with during the hack-a-thon. I'm planning to do some more work on it today and I think fracek is planning to work on it this week, so it may be pretty well off by the hack-a-thon. It would be great if it worked on Linux/Mac/etc so that people following along the Quick Start in DPG could try things out while they're reading (http://opendylan.org/books/dpg/start.html) - Rob _______________________________________________ hackers mailing list [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> https://lists.opendylan.org/mailman/listinfo/hackers _______________________________________________ hackers mailing list [email protected] https://lists.opendylan.org/mailman/listinfo/hackers
