And Perl has CPAN, the only reason to use it.
Take a look at http://modulecounts.com/
It's quite impressive... (Especially for Node.js!)

Yes, Chicken Scheme has eggs
http://wiki.call-cc.org/chicken-projects/egg-index-4.html
Racket (ex-Scheme) has PLaneT http://planet.racket-lang.org/
Even Common Lisp tries something with http://www.quicklisp.org/ et al.

I didn't want to complain, I still love your work. It's just that
every time I start a project the amount of code I don't have to write
myself is one of the most important factor for every decision. More
important than the programming language itself. I can learn Ruby, but I
can't (I'm really not able to!) write a solid ORM library (or inherit
and update a 10 years old one...)
So, how many well tested template engines? How many markdown parsers? A
robust date class? How can I talk to postgresql? That's it...

Sorry if it's a bit depressing,
g.
