Thanks to everyone who participated in the thread about overcoming the
"Dylan is dead" belief. It was great to see some first time posters
speaking out!

My impression is that the summary is:

   - No need to rename anything. Most new people won't have heard about the
Apple stuff and may find it intriguing or interesting. It isn't as much
baggage now as it might have been some years ago.
   - Syntax changes won't really have a significant impact on the uptake of
   Dylan.
   - Improving the libraries and the ecosystem (like providing a package
directory) might be a big win.
   - But we really need something written in Dylan that makes good use of
Dylan, isn't the compiler, and that people might find interesting.
   - It may be that having a solid web platform would be good. We have some
stuff in terms of an HTTP server, but we don't publicize it well and it
probably needs some love and working samples.
   - Improving the ability to use Dylan for "scripting" might be a good
thing. At the least, improving the documentation and status of our OS
integration libraries would be good. (This would include documenting
locators and making sure they're easy to use, perhaps with a good cheat
sheet / introduction in the documentation.)
   - My idea for Calvino, to be a framework for games and graphics might be
something that people would find interesting.
   - The website could use improvement (but is a big gain over what we've
   had before).
   - Improving the libraries in the database area would benefit just about
anything that people would want to do with Dylan.

This seems like it leaves a lot of fertile ground that can be covered
either for the 2013.2 release or during a hack-a-thon (or whenever).

Thoughts? Anyone want to volunteer a bit of time to help out with some of
the above? Many things can be done with just a couple of hours / week and
I'd be happy to help guide people through any of the above (or other
things).

 - Bruce
