It is important to note that reliability and security are different sides of the same coin. Each one supports the other. While I value reliability quite highly because of its hassle-free nature, I'm not sure the market values it. I point to the business success of Microsoft to show that features trump reliability in most buyer's minds. (Note that for corporate purchases, buyer \= user.) Perhaps the market is changing, as most products now have the features necessary to "get your work done". The growing market share of the Macintosh might support this view.
