Looks like you need "make default" rather than "make all".

"make all install" gives a different error for me (see below), and gives
the same error even on the official 0.9.2a release:

$ make all install
make[1]: Entering directory `/tmp/e/src/jsrc'
rm -f ../../dist/e.jar
(cd ../../classes; \
        jar cfm ../dist/e.jar ../src/jsrc/ForManifest.txt .)
java.io.FileNotFoundException: ../dist/e.jar (No such file or directory)
