Xace does not support void-safety yet.
I'll add it in the near future.
This task is not as easy as it seems, as you noticed below.

I would assume that the version of `out' in ANY is considered
by the compiler as attached whereas the one in UC_CHARACTER is
considered as detachable. So I assume that you have a reference
to base-safe.ecf in your compile_ise.ecf, but this latter ECF file
does not specify the option 'is_attached_by_default'.
