max_string mode in XM_EIFFEL_PARSER

Hi All,

I have been reading the document which is the topic of

And would really like to use the max_string mode of XM_EIFFEL_PARSER. 
However it appears that it is not implemented in Gobo 3.3 and 
therefore I am limited to ascii chars up to 127. I really would like 
to be able to use up to 255 while still using standard strings.

Does anybody know the status of this?
