because you're leaking implementation, the concept of reference equality
is way more essential to the OO model (even if not essential enough to
warrant hijacking the "=" sign ideally) than the address operator (which
shouldn't be an operator at all IMHO) -- it is an artefact of the
"external" facility, which is conceptually auxiliary to the core model.
