I heard once that there was a law in Germany that if there
is a standard covering something, and you do that something,
you are required to follow the standard.  Will Germans
be required to follow the standard whether it makes sense or not?
If this is the case, it provides incentive for keeping
stupidities out of the ECMA standard, instead of just ignoring it.
