The distance is the distance between a client class and its supplier.
So yes, it is calculated every time a class is needed. Therefore there
can be more than one class with the same name in the system.

Why not. Your idea avoids the whole "renaming" problem which is like a
rose flower: looks pretty, but has thorns on all sides (I know because
I tried).
