For the record: when I tried to use tcc, it failed with "out of memory" or some such error. And the installer was not taking any of the other C/C++ compilers that I had. I did manage to build it by using the c/c++ compilers that came with sunstudio (but I had to tweak the build system a bit) Would you guys want me to update the configure script so that it fails when it detects a gcc version higher than 4.0 or the support for it is own cards= ? 2009/9/14 Remy Schleimer <[email protected]> > Hi all, > I have a similar problem when installing on MACOSX 10.6 (Snow) with gcc > i686-apple-darwin10-gcc-4.2.1. > I get the following: > > > > Any idea how to get SE running again? > Merci > Remy > > On 13 sept. 2009, at 21:08, Guillaume Lema=EEtre wrote: > > >> You need to use a version prior to 4.0.0. >> >> 2009/9/13 <[email protected]>: >> >>> Hi, >>> I am trying to install SmartEiffel on a 64 bit linux machine. >>> When I tried SmartEiffel-2.3.tgz, it crashed during the build process. >>> Then I >>> moved to the 2.2 version and it failed with the following problem: >>> >>> compile_to_c41.c:713: warning: assignment makes pointer from integer >>> without a >>> cast >>> compile_to_c41.c:716: error: =91T459=92 has no member named =91_target= =92 >>> >>> compile_to_c41.c:716: error: =91T459=92 has no member named =91_feature= _name=92 >>> >>> compile_to_c41.c:719: error: =91T459=92 has no member named =91_feature= _stamp=92 >>> >>> compile_to_c41.c:720: error: =91T459=92 has no member named =91_feature= _stamp=92 >>> >>> compile_to_c41.c:724: error: =91T459=92 has no member named =91_argumen= ts=92 >>> >>> compile_to_c41.c:726: error: =91T459=92 has no member named =91_target= =92 >>> >>> compile_to_c41.c:726: error: =91T459=92 has no member named =91_feature= _stamp=92 >>> >>> compile_to_c41.c:726: error: =91T459=92 has no member named =91_argumen= ts=92 >>> >>> compile_to_c41.c:731: warning: assignment makes pointer from integer >>> without >>> >>> Can some one please let me know how do I install the compiler on linux? >>> Is >>> there a dependancy on any particular version of gcc ? >>> >>> >> > > --0016e64c16d45ceb6b047396b603 Content-Type: text/html; charset=windows-1252 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Thanks Guillaume.
=A0I managed to get it working finally.
For the rec= ord: when I tried to use tcc, it failed with "out of memory" or s= ome such error.
And the installer was not taking any of the other C/C++ = compilers that I had.
I did manage to build it by using the c/c++ compilers that came with sunstu= dio (but I had to tweak the build system a bit)

Would you guys want = me to update the configure script so that it fails when it detects a gcc ve= rsion higher than 4.0 or the support for it is own cards?

<div class=3D"gmail_quote">2009/9/14 Remy Schleimer <span dir= =3D"ltr"><<a href=3D"mailto:[email protected]">reschleimer@wanadoo.= fr>
<blockquote class=3D"gmail_quote" style=3D"border-left= : 1px solid rgb(204, 204, 204); margin: 0pt 0pt 0pt 0.8ex; padding-left: 1e= x;"> Hi all,
I have a similar problem when installing on MACOSX 10.6 (Snow) with gcc i68= 6-apple-darwin10-gcc-4.2.1.
=A0I get the following:

Any idea how to get SE running again?
Merci
Remy

On 13 sept. 2009, at 21:08, Guillaume Lema=EEtre wrote:

<blockquote class=3D"gmail_quote" style=3D"border-left: 1px solid rgb(204, = 204, 204); margin: 0pt 0pt 0pt 0.8ex; padding-left: 1ex;">
You need to use a version prior to 4.0.0.

2009/9/13 =A0<<a href=3D"mailto:[email protected]" target=3D"_blank">= [email protected]>:
<blockquote class=3D"gmail_quote" style=3D"border-left: 1px solid rgb(204, = 204, 204); margin: 0pt 0pt 0pt 0.8ex; padding-left: 1ex;"> Hi,
I am trying to install SmartEiffel on a 64 bit linux =A0machine.
When I tried SmartEiffel-2.3.tgz, it crashed during the build process.
