Re: segv compiling master (freebsd-10.1 on x64)

Further exploration: 18.0rc1 also compiles fine on the freebsd 10.1 512M
box; 18.0rc2 fails.  So those bracket the regression.

On ubuntu linux 15.04, master builds, so apparently the issue may be
[free]bsd specific.
