Yes, I did use both of those, and somehow I missed the paragraph containing:
"There is an 'org (1200h-1)*4' at the end of color.asm that should read 
'org (0c00h-1)*4'" etc. which answered my question and I have only just 
now seen!  Of course it jumps out at me now that I understand what I was 
doing wrong.

I apologise for asking the question when the answer was there already 
there and available.
