Re: successful group programming

Ray, etc all,

I am going a bit slower than originally planed.
I want to make sure I do not step on any toes.

Also it looks like I will be setting up a YalooGroups chat group instead of 
Google.  I thought the set up and registration for Google groups did not 
complete. I think I will delete it, since it looks like an Oops on my part. 
Ok?  It looks like Yahoo is better for a group, for sure (now)

Hi Martin,

I  assume that you're aware of some conversations here on the list server 
about how to better enable a group programming effort and exchange of files 
and programs written in colorforth.

May I please ask how you to compare the features I have been used to using 
as per below to what's available here, so I can be better informed and more 
helpful. I highly appreciate the time and effort you must have spent 
maintaining this list server over the years.  Thank you very much and please 
do not get the wrong idea, we really do appreciate it.  What do you think?



I summarize -
PRO
1) All the posts are kept in one place the matter what subject matter is
used.
2) It is easy to search the archives.
3) There are facilities for storing and sharing files.
4) Posting is limited to identifiable persons or at least screen names.
5) Most all the posts are on topic.
6) You can have daily summarys or get all messages in real time.
7) Access can be restricted, but this has not been found necessary.
8) Email addresses can be enrolled for a trial subscription.
9) It is very easy to opt out.

CON
1) You have to subscribe to yahoo to post.
2) There are no threads, just subject lines. (Pro: It is a thread in it's
self)
