Hi Midna,

Thanks for your design. I do like it. And yes, this mailing list is fine.

We aren't necessarily unhappy with the current logo. We do get feedback,
from time to time, that the logo (and even the name Groovy) can seem
strange at first, and then people seem to get used to it, and often grow to
like it. And it does seem to have reasonable brand recognition for folks
who have been in the industry for a while.

Having said that, most of our community is open minded and if we believed a
new logo would be better for the language, we could probably navigate such
a change. We'd probably open it up to see if anyone else had candidate new
logos and then run some kind of poll.

The timing of your suggestion however, isn't ideal. The ASF itself is
currently contemplating a logo change[1]. They might move away from logos
containing the word "Apache" and maybe use "ASF" instead, or they might
produce a new image that we might want to include or be inspired from. I
don't want you to feel discouraged, but perhaps in 6 months time we'll know
whether the ASF process is something that might alter our thinking about
logos. If we do get to that point, I do hope you would submit your proposal
(or a revamp by then if we know more) for consideration.

Cheers, Paul.
P.S. I attached a "low quality" logo (all I found quickly) that is
sometimes used in IDEs.
