Cannot import List(intersperse), possibly bug #17

Hi

I don't seem to be able to do:

import List(intersperse)

in Hugs Sep 2006 - it says:

ERROR file:.\Taut.hs - Unknown entity "intersperse" imported from module "List"

import Data.List(intersperse) works fine

This issue breaks SmallCheck

This looks similar to issue #17 in the bug tracker, but more general:
