Both these incompatibilities result from the Nov 2003 release being more
strictly compliant with Haskell 98:
- chr and ord are exported by Char, not (any longer) from Prelude.
- fromInt, toInt, etc are no longer exported by the Prelude:
  use fromIntegral instead.
