New to Io - AVCodec

I am new to this language, and I love it.  I made first contact a couple of months ago with the book 7 langs in 7 weeks.  But I have been really struggling with trying to link to videos and manipulate them from within Io.  I want to play sections off videos essentially.

I have put in a bit of time, and it seems that AVCodec is there and ffmpeg can be used, but I'm lost.

I'm using Pardus Linux. Can anyone tell me how I setup my Io so I can use video, and perhaps reference a program that shows video being used?

I really do love this language.
