I'm just checking in to say that I'm working on the above, as Jython has a problem with jnr-posix on Windows. This is behind the reversing of Jim's otherwise desirable update to the JNR and JFFI jars. I raised this issue: https://github.com/jnr/jnr-posix/issues/25 but I don't see anyone other than me rushing to fix it. So I'm working *for* Jython, just not *on* Jython. The tool-chain brings some interesting new challenges. I can build it on Linux and Windows (although on Windows many tests fail): Eclipse is unhappy on both in ways I don't understand.
