Dear list members,

I recently acquired more exposure on Windows and wanted to associate my
.jython scripts with the Jython interpreter.

As Windows (7) apparently does not have a shebang mechanism, I ran into a
bit of a problem. File of type .py are associated with cpython and I don't
think this should be changed.

I collected my thoughts and some links to previous discussions on this issue
http://bugs.jython.org/issue2206

A solution I could think of would be to allow using .jy as a valid
extension for python scripts written in Jython.

Feedback would be most welcome.

Kind regards,
Eero Aaltonen
