Awesome! I'll test how these work with some subprocess using code I
have and report possible issues to the tracker.

Great to hear that there's already a way to get pip to work!

If pip already works well, why is it going to be dropped from 2.7?
Would there be too much work bundling it in? Anything where others who
could help? It would be so much easier for users if pip was included
out-of-the-box, especially if the standard pip still wouldn't work.
