We still have an unreviewed PR https://github.com/jythontools/jython/pull/40 proposing a fix for #2500 (Loading default cacerts on client socket when specifying a default java truststore unnecessarily searches for more cacerts in the same dir). I am not an expert for ssl.py and cannot sufficiently asses whether it can/should be applied, although it looks good to me (in my local experimentation branch it doesn't cause regrtest issues or so). I think it would be a pity to miss a ready-made fix for 2.7.1/rc, so it would be nice if someone with more knowledge about ssl, cacerts etc could have a look and drop a note.
