It would be great to get 2.7.2b out. I made some more progress on locale after I had to put it down for a while. Hope to have the next patch out soon, but I agree it should not be a blocker. I think it makes sense to drop Java 7 support. Would you drop immediately, or announce now that it will be dropped in 2.7.3? My $0.02 on duration is a month of beta is heaps now people are used to higher frequency releases of software generally.
