Hi Jeff and rest of the Jython crew!

I tested Jython Jython 2.7.2 beta 2 by running Robot Framework
projects (github.com/robotframework/robotframework) comprehensive
acceptance test set with it both on Linux and Windows without major
issues. The only regressions I found I were
https://bugs.jython.org/issue2820 and
https://bugs.jython.org/issue2824. Neither of them are showstoppers
for us and I can just disable related tests with Jython if they aren't
fixed.

Do you have any timeline when Jython 2.7.2 final would be released? We
are currently working with Robot Framework 3.2 with a target to get it
out still this year. One of our distributions is robotframework.jar
with embedded Jython, and if possible I'd like to updated Jython it
contains to 2.7.2.

Once Jython 2.7.2 is out, I hope development effort would be targeted
for Jython 3. The main reason we aren't planning to drop Python 2
support yet is to support Jython, but I doubt we want to write or even
maintain Python 2 code anymore in 2021.

Thanks for your work and the new release!

Cheers,
    .peke
