In addition to Jython 3 roadmap, recommended reads are https://www.jython.org/jython-3-mvp https://the-very-slow-jython-project.readthedocs.io/en/latest/ As you already noticed, https://github.com/jython/jython3 is *not* the right place - it is a discontinued approach and sandbox. Jython 3 is developed under the main branch (not master) of the usual Jython repo: https://github.com/jython/jython/tree/main So far I did not work with that branch myself but I guess a starting point would be to clone it, build it (gradle), check out current state.
