                   Seventeenth International Conference on
               Principles and Practice of Constraint Programming

                           September 12-16, 2011
                              Perugia, Italy

As part of the 2011 International Conference on Principles and Practice of
Constraint Programming, we are inviting PhD students to apply for the
Doctoral
Program. This program provides an opportunity for current PhD students to
meet each
other as well as researchers in the field. Participants will also present
their work
via both a poster and a talk.

Participation in the Doctoral Program will involve:

 Presentation of talks and posters.
 Discussions with a mentor with similar research interests.
 Entry to the CP 2011 conference.

Eligibility and Applications

The program is open to all PhD students involved in Constraint Programming
or
related fields at any level. Applicants are required to submit a short paper
(no
more than 6 pages) in the Springer LNCS Style and the author list should
specify who
is the student and who is/are the supervisor/s. Submissions are required to
be in
PDF format and have to be done through EasyChair at

The submission deadline is June 10, 2011.

Notification will take place on July 8th and the CP Conference runs from
September
12-16 in Perugia, Italy.

The paper should contain original unpublished work which is at least in part
the
work of the student. It can either be completed or in progress. The papers
will be
available on the conference webpage after the conference.

Any students with full papers accepted in the CP conference do not need to
submit a
paper to the Doctoral Program, but are automatically eligible for entry
(assuming,
of course, that the paper is at least in part the work of the student).

All students applying for the Doctoral Program need their supervisor/s to
send a
letter of recommendation to [email protected] detailing:

 the student's area of work.
 the supervisor's support of the student's application.
 the expected completion date for the student.
 the reason for wanting to attend the doctoral program.
 whether or not the student has been to the doctoral program and/or received
financial assistance previously and how many times.
 the title of the submitted paper, and if it is a doctoral program paper or
a full
paper accepted in the main CP conference.

Financial Support

There are funds available to support students by providing accommodation and
free
conference registration (we cannot pay travel expenses, though). If there
are
insufficient funds to provide this for all doctoral program participants,
preference
will be given to students who have not previously benefited.
