Job Summary: The Technology Strategy Board and RCUK have recently awarded a new project 'Trust Domains: A Framework for Modelling and Designing e-Service Infrastructures for Controlled Sharing of Information' to the University of Aberdeen, in collaboration with Hewlett-Packard Laboratories, Perpetuity Research & Consultancy Ltd, the University of Oxford and the University of Birmingham. The project is concerned with developing ways to manage, model and reason about large-scale socio-technical systems that are constructed with next generation security technologies (Trusted Computing). The University of Aberdeen will take a leading role in developing conceptual and mathematical models of information - its use, flow and security - as a precursor to the development of methods for the design and analysis of systems with Trust Domains. Professor David Pym is the Principal Investigator (PI) and Dr Matthew Collinson is co-Investigator (CI) on this project. The appointee will work in the Department of Computing Science, which has significant research groups with expertise in logic, security, systems modelling and agent technologies.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 6 scale (£29,972 - £30,870 per annum), with placement according to qualifications and experience.

Informal enquiries may be made to Prof David Pym ([email protected]) or Dr Matthew Collinson ([email protected]).
