Since it came up: > whether one thinks of "ILC as being a peer to the major peer-reviewed > programming languages conferences." ILC is still cool, including the venue in 2007 (Cambridge, UK). I only went to one (2003, NYC), but I met all kinds of cool people whose names and thoughts were wrapped in print. One of my happiest memories was sitting down at a table and having a friendly chat with John McCarthy. When I think ILC I think "heritage."
