G'day Thijs,

Thanks for responding to my 5.5 rock incompatibility post.

I'd be happy to post a PR, but am unsure about how to set up my
system for Rocks experimentation.

Ideally, a problematic Rock would be installed locally, and then
I'd be able to step through, see the failures, and be able to judge
(as a competent C programmer, and a fairly-capable Lua programmer,
but never straying near the interface API, the VM or the compiler)
what might be relevant in a PR.

Could you give me a terse checklist, on how fetch a miscreant
Rock, modify it to (possibly?) LIE that it's 5.5 compatible, and
then let me work through the resulting output to see if I can spot
any low-hanging fruit to help proceed towards 5.5 compatibility.

If not, could you please forward this message to Hisham, and ask
him to respond to me.

Thanks in advance, b
