Call for contributions (C)LP TEACHING session Saturday 13th December 2003, 10:30-12:30 at ICLP 2003 http://www.tcs.tifr.res.in/~iclp03/ At the the 19th International Conference on Logic Programming, to be held in Mumbai (Bombay), India, from Dec. 9 to Dec. 13, 2003, a session dedicated to the teaching of (Constraint) Logic Programming is scheduled on Saturday 13th December. (Constraint) Logic Programming is a very powerful programming paradigm, but hard to learn without any help. If we want to spread the technology, we must teach it at least to computer science students. The session will investigate what is currently taught and how. It will also discuss what we believe should be taught and why. The panel will be divided into two parts. The first hour, the 6 panelists will present possible motivations, objectives, curriculae related to (C)LP teaching. The second hour, questions, remarks and suggestions will be taken from the audience. Any person from the audience will be able to contribute to the discussion. If possible this contribution should be summarized on a slide (only one per contributor). It would help the organization of the panel if contributors could notify the panel chair about their intention to contribute by an email with name, affiliation and if possible the intended (draft) slide. An ultimate goal would be that interested people write a paper on the topic. This paper could be sent to ACM, with the backing of ALP, and try to get (C)LP permanently into the official ACM curriculum.
