[m-users.] Colorful compiler output and Emacs

Hi!

I like the new colorful compiler messages. They are much more readable. But
this works (by default) only in the console. If you are using Emacs, you
have to turn it off, because it clutters the compiler output with escape
sequences.

Is there a way to make Emacs interpret those escape sequences, such that the
colorful output appears in the Emacs compile window?
