release candidates

After much delay, I think that nearly everything is in place to
declare a release of MLton.  There are binary release-candidate
packages for the major platforms available at:

 http://www.mlton.org/Experimental

Preliminary release notes are available at

 http://www.mlton.org/Release201006XX

I expect to snapshot a release in about one week, assuming no newly
reported problems.  It would be a great help if interested parties
could try building on other platforms.
