I certainly want to interoperate in some manner with GitHub. Indeed, it was trivial to "git push --mirror" the SF repositories to GitHub: https://github.com/MLton/on-20130302-svn2git-mlton https://github.com/MLton/on-20130302-svn2git-mltonlib which can be cloned with: git clone git://github.com/MLton/on-20130302-svn2git-mlton.git mlton git clone git://github.com/MLton/on-20130302-svn2git-mltonlib.git mltonlib Furthermore, into an empty repository, I could "git add remote" both the SF and GitHub repositories and "git fetch" both with the second fetch actually doing nothing. GitHub is almost certainly the more popular choice. One (very minor) point in favor of SF is that they properly identify and highlight .fun files as Standard ML: https://sourceforge.net/p/mlton/on-20130302-svn2git-mlton/ci/master/tree/mlton/core-ml/core-ml.fun vs https://github.com/MLton/on-20130302-svn2git-mlton/blob/master/mlton/core-ml/core-ml.fun Although, I think that GitHub's code/history browser is probably better overall. In any case, I think it will be simple enough to mirror one way or the other, but making GitHub primary would be a reasonable choice.
