With regards to GnuMP: MLton is careful to always allocate memory for
GnuMP integers from the MLton managed heap.  GMP should never need to
use its own allocation routines.

As far as I know, the GSoC project mainly developed some build tools
for setting up a cross-compilation environment for RTEMS; see
