Hi Matthew, I'm an undergrad at Georgia Tech, and I use MLton for my bioinformatics research. I haven't yet published any papers about my work, but you can read a little about it here: http://www.cos.gatech.edu/news/Math-Computing-Double-Major-Wins-Coveted-Goldwater The NSF always likes to hear that a project is helping undergrads (preparing the next generation of future scientists, etc).
