No, I don't think I ever received a response. There's now miTLS written in F#. Haskell has a TLS implementation as well. On the other hand, it's often difficult to use a non-mainstream implementation because interoperability issues can arise (and the crypto might be subtly wrong). If you are interested in managed code in particular, OpenJDK contains an implementation as well, and portable host name checking has been added in OpenJDK 7.
